Mark RoutenHead of Tax
Mark has worked in taxation for 30 years. Starting with the Inland Revenue, now HMRC, before moving on to work within the big four firms of accountants. Mark then went on to start his own company. He has specialised in expat tax planning for a number of years, spending time working overseas himself in both India and Hong Kong.
Mark has developed a particularly deep knowledge of tax planning for those residing in the European locations of France, Spain and Portugal. These areas have been a specific focus for the last decade, providing local and cross-border tax advice to many expats residing in these popular retirement destinations.
Joining Hoxton in 2021, Mark has led the in-house tax division since its creation.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
